A Personal Note

A Personal Note

My mother passed away this morning. She would have been 93 on December 2. She has been quite ill since February. Many of you were customers of The Fabric Patch. Mother and I opened the store in 1981. Mother became very interested in creating dolls. She held classes, one Christmas making Cabbage Patch Dolls, she designed a doll that looked just like Blanche Young a quilter, and taught toothbrush rugs. If you ever visited “The Patch” and admired the dolls, ribbon embroidery and often Christmas decorations, you too have a memory of my mother. I will miss her.

I’m so sorry to hear about this great loss of your mother. May God comfort you at this time.

Every time you create something, you will remember all she taught you and others. I lost my mom who was nearly 97, and realize what a blessing she was to me, her adopted daughter.

It’s a time of real sorrow, but I know you will have many happy memories.

Many happy memories of visiting “The Patch” and will fondly remember your mother and her many talents.
Please take comfort that she had a wonderful time sharing her life and her talent with you.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. It is so terribly hard for you now, but you have many wonderful memories of her all around you. You will treasure those memories in the days, months, and years to come.

Perhaps another quilt will come out of this sadness in order to celebrate her life.

All my sympathies in this time of sorrow.

Blessings to you and your entire family, on the news of your mother. All of her burdons are lifted and gone. I share with you that she has not departed – she has arrived in the kingdom of heaven. I enjoyed her cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade during one of your classes. It is one of my favorite memories at The Patch. What a lady.
